THE VILLAS OF
SUNSET GROVE
Initiatives & Projects

MAINSTREET INITIATIVE

The purpose of this initiative is to upgrade and modernize The Villas of Sunset Grove by way of beautification. Beautification matters because the physical beauty and quality of amenities are a reflection of a community's pride and commitment to mutual benefit. It also helps drive property values up and makes our community a more desirable place to live.
It doesn't take much. Everyone can look for simple opportunities to start on their own properties. Clean up your yard, plant a garden, if you see trash or a problem in a public space, pick it up or report it to the board. Do your part to invest and participate in the upkeep of The Villas. Beautification doesn't have to take a lot of effort to be effective. And if you need help, don't be afraid to ask your neighbors!

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

One of our goals is to encourage community awareness, participation and cooperation. Keeping people informed is critical to getting them involved. We have the most impact on our community when we are all working together toward a shared goal that has broad impact.
There are many ways you can get involved. Joining a committee or attending a meeting are just a few of the ways you can participate. You can also reach out to your neighbors who may need help or send us your ideas for how we can improve our neighborhood.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

To help prepare the community for unexpected occurrences, we will be developing a written disaster preparedness plan and communicating it to each resident. This plan will provide useful information to residents, and help mitigate damage expenses from instances such as hurricanes and flooding. Once the guide is complete, we'll give a copy to every resident and post it on our website.

COMMUNICATION

Good communication makes things run smoothly and fosters a sense of confidence in association members about their governing board. Making relevant information readily available by using a variety of communication tools is crucial to keeping residents informed of the latest happenings in and around the community. To that end, we've developed a community website, set up an email address for you to reach out to us at any time, have begun posting meeting minutes, and are in the process of creating a quarterly newsletter.

WELCOMING & SOCIAL COMMITTEE

This committee will ensure every new neighbor is personally welcomed to the community and will provide them with the information they need, such as the Good Neighbor Guide and Community Disaster Plan. Committee members will also organize community events, such as annual block parties, Community Days (Neighbors Helping Neighbors) and bi-annual yard sales.
We need a minimum of three volunteers on this committee.

BEAUTIFICATION
COMMITTEE

Members of this committee will oversee landscaping projects in common areas, manage installation and maintenance of shrubs and flowers at main entrances, and report any broken or damaged signs, lights, etc. They'll also help the board manage the aesthetic and functional upkeep of public spaces and contribute to the labor involved in enhancing the natural appeal of The Villas.
We need a minimum of three volunteers on this committee.
